Alberto Lupidi
Researcher
Dr. Alberto Lupidi earned his M.Sc in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Pisa in September 2008, and later received his Ph.D. in Remote Sensing from the same university in 2013. During the year 2012, Dr. Lupidi spent a research period at TU Delft, where he focused on the processing of polarimetric weather data and the decomposition of polarimetric data.
He is currently working as a researcher at the National Laboratory of Radar and Surveillance Systems (RaSS) of CNIT. Dr. Lupidi has been involved in various projects funded by Italian government agencies (such as the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Economic Development), as well as European and international organizations (such as Europead Defence Agency and NATO), with roles of scientific and technical coordinator. With ESA, he belongs to the Radar Captech as non-government expert He has been selected as session chairman for International Radar Sysmposium and International Radar Conference.
His areas of expertise and interest lie in the fields of radar systems, signal and data processing, weather radar polarimetry, SAR polarimetry, machine learning, and quantum radar. He also has additional interests in marine environment sensing, oil spill detection, and monitoring illegal maritime activities.
